BIO

Matthew J. Dikovics is a seasoned government relations professional and co-founder and Managing Partner of Nassau Government Relations (NGR), a New Jersey-based public affairs and lobbying firm. Since founding NGR in 2016, he has built a reputation as a highly effective state-level advocate, representing a diverse portfolio of clients before legislative and executive branches at the local, state, and federal levels. Under his leadership, the firm has delivered major policy and funding victories, including one of the most decisive ballot question defeats in New Jersey history and a series of high-impact state budget appropriations benefiting healthcare providers, community organizations, and vulnerable populations.

Dikovics is widely recognized for his ability to design and execute large-scale funding strategies through the New Jersey state budget process. He has successfully secured and supported appropriations across multiple fiscal years, including sustained increases in reimbursement funding for home health aides serving seniors in the FY21, FY22, and FY23 state budgets, as well as targeted direct appropriations. These efforts are part of broader, multi-year funding initiatives that have directed millions of dollars toward healthcare access, senior services, and community-based programs, often requiring coordination with legislative leadership, executive agencies, and budget committees.

In addition to budget advocacy, Dikovics has led the drafting and passage of transformative healthcare legislation, including a $3 million supplemental appropriation to increase Medicaid reimbursement rates and a landmark law raising assisted living reimbursement rates by more than 60 percent—the largest increase in the program’s history. His work consistently operates at the intersection of policy and funding, ensuring that policy priorities are paired with meaningful fiscal commitments.

Beyond proactive advocacy, Dikovics provides strategic counsel to clients navigating complex regulatory environments, frequently securing or restoring critical approvals across agencies such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, multiple New Jersey departments, and local governments. He has guided dozens of licensing approvals across industries including healthcare, environmental services, and real estate development.

Prior to founding NGR, Dikovics served as Vice President of Government & Community Affairs at Fairleigh Dickinson University, where he directed government relations strategy and secured public and private resources to support institutional priorities. Earlier, he served as a senior aide to United States Senator Frank R. Lautenberg, advising on policy and managing stakeholder engagement at the highest levels of government.

Dikovics began his career in New Jersey politics as part of Governor Jon S. Corzine’s gubernatorial campaign. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and remains active in civic and community initiatives, including his appointment to the Mendham Township Open Space Trust Fund, where he supports local land preservation and environmental stewardship efforts. In recognition of his non-profit contributions, Matt was presented with the 5th Annual Heroes of Tolerance Award by the Simon Wiesenthal Center in August 2020.

Known for his strategic insight, policy expertise, and ability to deliver substantial policy and fiscal outcomes, Dikovics is regarded as a trusted advisor for organizations seeking to influence government decision-making and secure meaningful public investment.
